this is the second oldest amusement park in the world and every winter it turns into the most magical winter wonderland in the city ❄️

💸 price:
it costs 180 dkk to enter the gardens (~ 24 euros) and 349 dkk for entrance including a ride pass (~ 46 euros)

⏳opening times:
tivoli gardens are open daily with the winter wonderland display lasting until January 5th, 2025!

the park is open from 11:00 - 22:00 daily and on Fridays and Saturdays it closes at midnight! ☃️

tivoli gardens are closed on Christmas Eve (24th of December) and on New Year’s Eve (31st of December) they are open until midnight 🎄

please read 👇🏼

almost two years ago I visited Hallstatt and as a photographer this picture perfect village quickly became one of my favorite memories in Europe 🥺

however, since then I’ve barely shared it on social media and have always been hesitant to do so…

this is because not long after, the locals took to the streets and heavily protested against the massive tourism peak the village was experiencing, so I felt that it would be wrong to encourage more people to visit when so many locals were asking for the tourism to stop 😌

I wholly understand and accept that as a travel blogger I can both help the tourism industry, but also have a negative effect on it, by “ruining” special places like Hallstatt 💭

however, I don’t think that it’s as black and white as many people on the internet like to claim.

as a creator I want to lead by example and will always educate this community and discourage them from behaving poorly at a destination. I will also never tolerate how some people leave trash, and harass locals all for the “perfect photo”

if a place has a sign that says no drone then please be a decent human being and respect this sign and the locals’ wish for privacy.

there are so many problems with tourism in Hallstatt and I think all the issues can be explained with the fact that there are multiple signs across the town telling tourists to respect locals - the fact that these signs are necessary honestly baffle me.

but with this said, I still don’t think that Instagram is the place to blame. the problem is that there are hundreds of tour buses going to Hallstatt daily bringing tourists who only have an hour to see this magical place and therefore rush around and push anyone they see out of their way for the “perfect photo”

I don’t think places need to be closed off or that locals need to gate keep their attractions, but the government needs to put restrictions on how tours can operate.

if you have been following me for a while then you will know that dresden is one of my favorite cities in germany 😌

and as beautiful as it is in sunshine, it’s actually just as magical (if not even more) in moody weather ☔️

the old town of dresden is actually small enough that you can explore it on a day trip but you could definitely stay here overnight and combine a visit to some other attractions nearby (or explore more of the new part as well!) 🏰

how to get to dresden ✨
🚗 by car: just over 2 hours from berlin
🚂 train: it takes 2 hours with a direct train from berlin
🚌 bus: it takes roughly 2.5 hours with the flixbus

if there’s one activity I think needs to be on everyone’s winter bucket list then it’s exploring ice caves ❄️

there’s something so magical and breathtaking walking in natural made caves and enjoying the wonders of Mother Nature 😌

and when it comes to ice caves, iceland does it best 🧚🏼‍♀️

tips for visiting these ice caves 🕯️

☃️ do NOT attempt to visit by yourself, guides here are a must as these places can be seriously dangerous, especially in winter

☃️ the katla ice caves are iconic and I recommend booking a tour with troll expeditions as they have the earliest tours and if you book the first one at 7:30 you basically have a private tour of the caves 💭

☃️ while katla is iconic, some of the most impressive ice caves can be found in the vatnajökull glacier which is also the largest glacier in Europe making it a must see 😮‍💨

☃️ make sure to wear sturdy boots and learn how to walk with crampons to avoid injury

☃️ remember that it is a privilege to be exploring glaciers and ice caves so remember to respect your surroundings and enjoy every moment 😌

that said, some of these clips are taken from aarhus (the second largest city in denmark) and I do think this city also deserves a shoutout ✨

so if you’re looking for a more traditional christmas experience in a smaller city filled with stunning cobblestone streets then make sure to check out aarhus for a few days during your visit 🕯️

a lot of people think that I travel full time but the reality is that I’m currently in university and working a part-time job while having content creation as my creative outlet 📸

this means that while traveling is technically my third job, I don’t have the time to go on more than a few trips a year 😌

that being said, I still manage to prioritize travel and have visited 7 countries this year 🌎

that was with taking 25 days off which is what is given in denmark, this can of course be adjusted per country but it shows that a lot is possible with careful planning 🥰

while central germany is quite a large area I have specifically focused on hainich national park and the harz mountains 🏔️

personally I feel like this is a pretty underrated area in germany that sees a lot of local visitors, but most foreigners choose to explore berlin or bavaria instead 🥺

therefore I hope to inspire both locals and tourists looking to explore more of germany to consider a trip to the more central regions of the country which are full of so many incredible gems 💌

the jurassic coast has truly blown me away and has to be one of the highlights from my trip to the UK 🦋

how to get here ✨
🚗 by car: drive from london or any other starting location and head to the durdle door car park - keep in mind that it gets busy during the day so try to arrive early to secure a parking spot🙈

🚌 by public transportation: take the train from london waterloo to wool station (2 hours and 30 minutes journey)

get off at wool and take the X54 Jurassic Coaster or bus number 31 to durdle door which will take you 30 minutes (the X54 bus operates on weekdays only and bus 31 operates on weekends only)🏝️

while at durdle door make sure to explore the whole area - below are a few must see spots along the coast 💫

I recommend starting at durdle door and exploring the first spots on the list first, then it’s a 30 minute walk to lulworth cave, make sure to plan a full day here so you can enjoy the views without any stress 🧚🏼‍♀️

the jurassic coast has truly blown me away and has to be one of the highlights from my trip to the UK 🦋

how to get here ✨
🚗 by car: drive from london or any other starting location and head to the durdle door car park - keep in mind that it gets busy during the day so try to arrive early to secure a parking spot🙈

🚌 by public transportation: take the train from london waterloo to wool station (2 hours and 30 minutes journey)

get off at wool and take the X54 Jurassic Coaster or bus number 31 to durdle door which will take you 30 minutes (the X54 bus operates on weekdays only and bus 31 operates on weekends only)🏝️

while at durdle door make sure to explore the whole area - below are a few must see spots along the coast 💫

I recommend starting at durdle door and exploring the first spots on the list first, then it’s a 30 minute walk to lulworth cave, make sure to plan a full day here so you can enjoy the views without any stress 🧚🏼‍♀️

the dolomites is a rather large mountain range in Italy so when planning a trip here finding the right accommodation is key 🥇
